WOOLHOME QUILTS CARE GUIDE

Woolhome All-Season Wool Comforter Quilts are known for their warmth, comfort, value and durability, and taking care of your new Woolhome quilts will ensure you and your family can enjoy the most comfortable sleeps you’ve ever had for the life of your quilt.

There are four key steps to taking the best possible care of your Woolhome quilts, which we’ve summarised and explained in more detail below.

The four key steps are:

Washing Your Quilt Regularly
Drying Your Quilt Properly
Covering Your Quilt
Know When to Replace Your Quilt
Here’s a detailed explanation of each step.

WASHING YOUR QUILT

Some people wash their quilts and others don’t, choosing instead just to wash their quilt covers.

For maximum hygiene, and to ensure your Woolhome quilt retains its warmth and comfort qualities for as long as possible, we recommend that you machine wash your quilts no more than once every six months, reading the care instructions on the care label of each quilt before you do.

Generally speaking, it’s best to set your washing machine on the ‘delicate' or ‘gentle' wash cycle, and use a mild liquid soap to keep your quilt smelling fresh, and looking clean and white.

DRYING YOUR QUILT

Quilts with different fill types may have different care instructions, so when it comes to drying your quilt, it’s best to read the care instructions on the care label of the quilt you are washing and drying before you do.

For best results, dry your quilt on a clothes line using several lines, and make sure it’s thoroughly dry before reuse or storage. Do not iron your quilt. We don’t recommend you dry your Woolhome quilt in a tumble dryer.

How long it takes your quilt to dry will depend on the fibre it is filled with. For best results, we also recommend that you pull the quilt into its proper shape while it’s still wet.

COVERING YOUR QUILT

Most people use a quilt cover on their quilts, which is something we highly recommend.

This will help protect your quilt and if you wash the quilt cover once a week or so, you can restrict the washing of the quilt to around once a month.

KNOW WHEN TO REPLACE YOUR QUILT

Taking great care of your new quilt is very important, but so too is knowing when to replace it.

Woolhome polyester and cotton quilts generally last for years with good care and normal use.

After that time they may begin to become discoloured and lose the superior warmth and comfort qualities they’re famous for.

CONCLUSION

Investing in a good quality new Woolhome quilt is one of the best investments you can make for you and your family, because it will ensure years of wonderfully comfortable sleep.

There’s nothing better than a great night’s sleep, and for the best night’s sleep and comfort you can trust, there’s only one choice, Woolhome.
